The largest events in Latin America for the sectors of machine tools and quality control equipment will take place in May.

FEIMAFE and QUALIDADE 2009 will present products and services for a market with a turnover of over R$ 2, 1 billion.

São Paulo, March 2009 – Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado promotes in São Paulo, from the 18th to 23rd of May 2009, the 12th FEIMAFE (International Machine Tools and Integrated Manufacturing Systems Trade Fair) and the 10th QUALIDADE (International Quality Control Trade Fair). The two events, considered the largest generators of business in their sectors in Latin America, will bring together more than 1.300 exhibitors from 30 countries, who will present the ultimate worldwide technical innovations for the machine tool industry and the most advanced equipment for quality control of products and services. Among the companies who are confirmed are: BLM, COOPER TOOLS, DEB´MAQ, GEDORE, GUHRING, HELLER, JUNDIAÍ, KENNAMETAL, MITUTOYO, ROMI, SAINT GOBAIN, STARRETT, SIEMENS, TAURUS WOTAN, TRAMONTINA, SCHIOPPA and UNISTAMP.

According to data from ABIMAQ (Brazilian Association for the Industry of Machinery and Equipment), the machine tool sector obtained in 2008, a turnover practically similar in comparison to the previous year with around about R$ 2,1 billion.

FEIMAFE is caters to all industrial sectors, as machine tools are the beginning of the productive chain and are responsible for the transformation of metals such as , for example, the conversion of a block of cast iron into  a vehicle engine block. Among the principal machines which make up the group of machine tools are machining centres, lathes, grinding machines, boring machines, saws, drills, presses, folding machines and guillotines which produce objects or parts for every day use such as mobile phones, pens, spectacles, chairs, television sets, refrigerators, among others.

At the FEIMAFE, the highlights will be the machine tools, automation, auxiliary equipment, accessories and components, tools and services in general. In QUALIDADE 2009, there will be systems and quality control systems integrated to manufacture: metrology, dimensional control of the process and post process, measuring machines for flexible systems and integrable tridimensional machines.

The events should attract 60 thousand visitors including national and international buyers, among them industrialists, buyers, merchants, professionals and technicians from the sector. In the previous edition, the International Business Round Tables, promoted by ABIMAQ and supported by APEX and Alcantara Machado Feiras de Negócios, up till then the fair’s promoter, had the participation of 17 national companies and 12  international buyers’ companies, generating an estimated volume of business of US$ 4,2 million.

FEIMAFE and QUALIDADE 2009 have the support of ABIMAQ, via CSMF (Sectorial Chamber for Machine Tools and Integrated Manufacturing Systems), CSHPA (Sectorial Chamber for Hydraulic Equipment, Pneumatics and Industrial Automation), CSAG (Sectorial Chamber for Compressed Air and Gases) and CSQI (Sectorial Chamber for Machines, Equipment and Instruments for Quality Control, Testing and Measurement), and the collaboration of SINAFER (Syndicate for the Industry of Iron Artefacts, Metals and Tools in General of the State of São Paulo) and ABENDE (Brazilian Association for Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection).
